Three homeschooled children ages 11, 9, and 6. One dog, cat, gecko, and six chickens.

NICU RN

What state do you reside in?

New York, California, and South Carolina

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

After the birth of my first child, the trajectory of my life took a U-turn. I became a birth doula and started down a path of natural health and lifestyle. I eventually home-birthed my next two children and tandem breastfed with each successive child.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

Breastfeeding and childbirth have always been a passion of mine. It led me into the nursing field and an 18-year career in the NICU.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Hands down, I would encourage all parents to follow their innate instincts.
