Please share anything you'd like from your own personal breastfeeding experience.

I have been enjoying this secret time between me and my child for 3 years now.

What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

I love every aspect of being IBCLC. I believe that breastfeeding is the most beautiful and powerful thing that happens between the mother and her child. By helping them to have that experience, I feel like I am making a world a little better: more loving and caring, happier and healthier.

In what types of settings have you supported patients in lactation?

I have years of experience in the hospital setting (NICU, Postpartum) and outpatient ( home visits)

What makes up your family (people & pets)?

I have a 3 year old daughter who is the light of my life.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

I love traveling and cooking with my daughter.

Please share any additional education or certifications you have.

RN, BSN

What state do you reside in?

Florida

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

When I was working in the postpartum unit at the hospital, I noticed how difficult breastfeeding can be for many patients.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

I decided to become an IBCLC to be able to help parents that are struggling with breastfeeding

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Do not give up if you have difficulties. Find help, get more knowledge, trust your body, take one step at a time, and do not stress. Everyone's breastfeeding journey is different. Enjoy yours.
