Please share anything you'd like from your own personal breastfeeding experience.

I nursed my first son for 30mos (he self-weaned in the third trimester of my second pregnancy), and I am currently nursing my second son (3mos of age)

What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

The opportunity to support women on their breastfeeding journey and empower them to trust their bodies in providing for their babies.

In what types of settings have you supported patients in lactation?

NICU, outpatient/home setting

What makes up your family (people & pets)?

Myself, my husband, my 2 sons (3yr old and 3mo old), and a Brittany Spaniel

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

Reading and family time

What state do you reside in?

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

I first became interested as a bedside NICU nurse but knew that it was my calling when it became a personal passion of mine during my breastfeeding journey with my first child.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

I became an IBCLC because I saw a system that was lacking the necessary support and resources for mothers and their babies. I wanted to become a part of that change. I wanted to educate mothers and support them throughout their breastfeeding journeys.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

To trust your instincts and follow your baby's cues.
