What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

Being able to help families with their breastfeeding journey is a true pleasure

Hospital, NICU, and outpatient

What makes up your family (people & pets)?

I live with my husband and my two toddler girls.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

Coffee, hiking, beach days, and spending time with all my family!

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

I knew when I realized how low the breastfeeding rates were when working in the public health sector and the lack of evidence-based information available to new mothers/parents.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

I wanted to physically help mothers and babies breastfeed one family at a time!

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Hand expression! It is such an important technique to learn and so simple/convenient.
