I am a mom of three and have successfully breastfed all of them for over a year.

What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

I love working with moms and babies in a supportive and educational role. I love that breastfeeding is a public health initiative and benefits both mom and baby in many ways.

In what types of settings have you supported patients in lactation?

Hospital, NICU, outpatient, home

What makes up your family (people & pets)?

My family is my husband and three kids.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

Biking, yoga, hiking, reading

Please share any additional education or certifications you have.

I am a trained doula and birth educator

What state do you reside in?

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

My first day of work as a lactation consultant in a hospital

Why did you become an IBCLC?

It is the perfect combination of my professional interests, including maternal health, public health, working with new moms and babies, and offering care in the home.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

To follow their own intuition when it comes to figuring out what is best for themselves and their babies. I believe in offering evidence-based education and then supporting the parents in what they believe is best for their unique situation.
