What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

I'm always excited about being part of the village that it takes to raise children. My goal is to help parents feel confident about their breastfeeding journey.

In what types of settings have you supported patients in lactation?

Outpatient, peer support groups, and WIC clinics

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

I enjoy eating food from different cultures; I’m a foodie at heart.

Please share any additional education or certifications you have.

MHA

What state do you reside in?

New York

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

I decided when I tried connecting families to lactation consultants (LCs) in the community and found out how difficult it is to find IBCLCs in the area, especially POC’s and bilingual LCs.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

Because of the need for LCs in my community, I had no one to send families to; therefore, I became that person.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Parents should have short-term and achievable goals because every family's breastfeeding journey looks different.
