2013, my freshman year of college.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

I saw the need for more lactation support in black and brown communities.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Give yourself grace throughout your journey. Is breastfeeding/chestfeeding natural yes, but it is also challenging so don’t beat yourself up when it does not come easy. With proper support and education, your journey can evolve into the one you imagined when you decided to provide human milk to your cutie.
