Please share anything you'd like from your own personal breastfeeding experience.

I struggled with a painful latch with my first baby for longer than I should have.  I wish I had gotten help sooner and not listened to the common misconception that breastfeeding is supposed to hurt.

What excites you most about being an IBCLC?

I love helping moms through the duration of their breastfeeding journey, whatever that may look like. The best part of my job is helping moms gain confidence with feeding and caring for their babies.

In what types of settings have you supported patients in lactation?

Hospital, NICU, Outpatient, Virtual

What makes up your family (people & pets)?

I have a wonderful husband, two beautiful daughters, and a silly labradoodle.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?

I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and being with friends and family.

Please share any additional education or certifications you have.

Masters in Nursing Education

What state do you reside in?

Colorado

When did you know you wanted to become an IBCLC?

When I started learning about the amazing benefits of breastfeeding when caring for moms and babies as a nurse.

Why did you become an IBCLC?

To help mothers reach their breastfeeding goals.

What do you wish you could tell every parent (that they would actually do) and why?

Trust your instincts as a parent and follow your heart to reach whatever breastfeeding goal feels best to you.
