Developed in the 1960s, telemedicine grew primarily to provide rural patients access to specialized medical care. It’s use has increased steadily, most notably with the world’s growing reliance on mobile technology. Patient desire for convenient health care and the unavailability of the overburdened primary care system has made telemedicine emerge today as an available and accepted resource amongst health professionals, insurance payors and patients.
Telemedicine practice in the US is guided by the American Telemedicine Association, which partners with national medical societies to develop standards for the delivery of remote care. Nest Collaborative offers our patients this emerging technology while continuing to provide evidence-based, guideline-supported pediatric care keeping safety and quality as our most valued priorities.
